M. Hayes | Maurice D Hayes, Chairman A chartered accountant by profession, Maurice has spent over 40 years in public practice. The purchase of a hotel in 1971 marked Maurice's entry into the hospitality industry. He has diverse business interest and several company directorship. He continues to combine his industry involvement with his accountancy business. Maurice has been a Trustee of Pub Charity since 1995. Address: PO Box 72 176, Papakura, Auckland | B. McLean | Bill McLean, Trustee Bill has maintained a long involvement with the hospitality industry, both in New Zealand and overseas. His purchase of another 'Bar & Café' establishment in Feilding has brought Bill back up to the North Island where he maintains a strong interest and involvement in various sporting codes (which in the past included being a founder member of the Manawatu Rugby Board and a committee member of the Manawatu Racing Club). Bill was appointed a Trustee for Pub Charity in March 1995. Address: PO Box 477, Feilding | D. McNay | David McNay, Trustee David is a Southlander born and bred, with a lifetime of community service which continues to this day.David's long association with Pub Charity began as a founding member in 1989. He became a Pub Charity Trustee in January 2004. David was a Trustee of the Hump Ridge Track Trust and the Southland Youth Adventure Trust, both for twelve years. Now retired to Queenstown, David remains a true Southlander and is still actively involved with arranging and leading tours of the region. Address: P O Box 27009, Wellington | B. Counihan
| Brian Counihan, Trustee Brian has enjoyed a very successful career path in the hospitality industry commencing as an apprentice chef in Canterbury culminating with a position at Expo '70 in Osaka, Japan. Hotel management beckoned and for the next 30 years Brian was involved at the top level during which time a course at Cornell University, New York, was completed. A period in Fiji also included PATA Fiji and board member of the Fiji Hotel Assn.Brian currently enjoys gardening, bowls, semi-retirement and a directorship. Address: PO Box 39002, Christchurch | R. Lingard | Rod Lingard As Director New Zealand for Right Management, a global management consulting firm specialising in people development and management strategies, Rod is well-placed to assist the Trust board in guiding and supporting the management team. Rod is a member of the Institute of Directors, a trustee of Workbase (National Centre for Workforce Literacy & Language) and chairman of an olive oil processing company. Net Proceeds CommitteePub Charity's Net Proceeds Committee meets each month to consider donations. The Net Proceeds Committee's decision is final as to the success or otherwise of any application. The Net Proceeds Committee is made up of at least three of the members of Pub Charity's Board of Trustees and/or a person appointed to the Committee by the Board. Return to top
